New Zealand is a country in the south-western Pacific Ocean consisting of 2 main islands. The Capital of New Zealand is Wellington and it’s located on the North Island. Wellington’s dramatic Mt. Victoria, along with the South Island’s Fiordland and Southern Lakes, stood in for mythical Middle Earth in Peter Jackson’s “Lord of the Rings” films.
New Zealand is a developed country with a high-income economy and it ranks highly in international comparisons of national performance, such as health, education, economic freedom as well as quality of life.
Auckland is the largest metropolitan area in both Polynesia and New Zealand, with a population of around 1.45 million people. It is located in the northern half of the North Island, on a narrow isthmus of land that joins the Northland peninsula to the rest of the North Island.
The city and suburbs have developed within the same timeframe and similar urban patterns as California (Los Angeles and Auckland have shared urban planning designs and are sister cities). The city and suburbs stretch over a large urban area, bordering to the east and west by two large harbours (Waitemata and Manukau) , the Pacific Ocean and Tasman Sea.
New Zealand has a great education system, which is respected by employers around the world for its ability to balance academic achievements with skills, producing creative, flexible thinkers who are competent at both practical and theoretical levels.
